Are you looking for a new way to make money? If you have a skill that is being unused and you want to find a way to help people, why not make a product? Product creation is a great way to make money and make something that people need.

There are many ways that people are making money online. One of the most popular ways is called product creation. There are many effective product creation techniques that you can implement in your process. If you can use a few of these techniques at a time, you should be able to make some great revenue. Start right now and find out which product creation techniques will work out the best for you!

The first thing that you need to do is brainstorm. Think about the products that you can create and how you can create them. From there, you need to think about how you are going to create your product and how you are going to sell it. Production of a specific product can be difficult, especially if you do not have a lot of tools to work with. Make sure that you also take the time to sit down and write out all of your product ideas. Seeing everything written out on paper is a great way to find out which products will work out best for you.

Most people who have made money from their product have learned how to develop and market their products. You need to look at these people as your example. You should find out how they developed their product and how long it actually took them. Remember, those who are making millions started out with a simple concept. Your concept could actually make you the extra money that you want to make.

There are many sites online that will help get you started with product creation. This is always helpful for those who want to choose a product, market it the right way and pull in the money. A website that helps people get started with all of this is a simple way to make money fast. Once you make your money through the site, you can cut yourself loose and go out on your own. A website will limit the amount of cash that you can pull in.

Make sure that you take your target market into account as well. You need to know what the public wants within the current market. If you do not listen to what they want, how can you create a product that will actually sell. Once you have created your product, test it out on some test subjects. This will allow you to tweak and fix your product. The more tests and research that you conduct, the more effective your product is going to become. Listen to your target market. Run a few tests and find out which product creation techniques work the best.

There are plenty of ways that you can find product creation techniques. It is always a good idea to write out all of your ideas and to some research. From there, you can begin with a few different techniques. Test a few of them out for a few weeks and see how much revenue you can pull in. If you are not pulling in the money that you need, you should get back to the drawing board!

I was just about to post about this topic when my friend
Bob “The Teacher” Jenkins posted all about this topic which
you can read here. So rather than repost the material that
I had which nearly overlaps his, I encourage you to head over
to his blog and read about it.

Instead I thought I would share some thoughts on going to
marketing events and how to get the most out of them. A lot
of people that I have spoken to ( including myself ) are very
nervous to go to an offline event, for whatever reason, they’re
just not comfortable going to one.

And I say…Just do it

I was very nervous the first time I went to an event,
that was The Internet Marketing Main Event San Fransisco
in 2007 held by Mike Filsaime. I didn’t know what to expect,
I had only chatted by phone or email with some of these guys
but I still didn’t feel comfortable going but I did it anyway.

I arrived in San Fransisco and made my way by taxi to the hotel,
when I got in I went into the lobby and was greeted by my good
buddy Bob Jenkins and immediately felt a rush of relief as we
sat and finally got to meet face to face after working together
on our Discover Cpanel product.

The event was a blast, I met some of the biggest names in internet
marketing and had a great time, we had a big party at the end of
the conference complete with a George Bush look-a-like and a famous
Vegas hypnotist Dr. Scott Lewis who somehow used his ‘magic powers’
to seduce me onto the stage and be a guinea pig for the audience.

I had one of the greatest experiences at that event and even have
video evidence of my performance on stage live. I really encourage
you to take the chance and go to one of these offline events, they
can be life changing and I don’t say that lightly, I have made some
of the best relationships of my life by going to these events.

Here are some tips that I would like to share with you about getting
the most out of offline events and then you can go and read this post
from Bob “The Teacher” Jenkins and use that to even create your very
first product right at the event.

1. Remind yourself why you’re going

2. Know who you want to meet

3. Establish goals for the event

The purpose of these offline events in my opinion is NOT for the content
that gets delivered. At least not for me. I am in a business to make money
and I do that by helping people solve problems and offering solutions to
their problems through information products and services.

So what I use these offline events for is simple, I am there to network
with individuals in the industry and to create long lasting relationships
that will help deliver solutions for my customers and friends.

You really want to remind yourself ‘why’ you’re going. What I mean by that
is you need to keep fresh in your mind exactly what you are looking for by
going to the event. If it’s to learn how to grow your business then make
sure you keep reminding yourself about why you’re going.

It’s important to know exactly who you want to meet. Most of the time there
will be a list of speakers and attendee’s that are going to be at these events,
so what I do is I will go through the list and write down names that I want to
make sure to be able to sit down and have a drink with. I don’t drink “alcohol”
but I mean that I write down those names who I know that I will not leave the
event without being able to sit down and spend a little time getting to know.

And finally you need to establish your goals for the event, this kind of ties
into the first one but this is where you go a little bit deeper in your thought
process and map out exactly what your goals are going to be for the event.

Using these three tips will instantly give you more focus for the event and
will take the edge off before you hit the event. We’re all just ‘regular’ people
and I think that is one of the biggest misconceptions that people face before
going to their first event. I thought that no one would even talk to me because
I am just a regular guy with one teeny tiny info product. I was wrong.

Here is 5 simple steps to speaking to a ‘guru’ and I say that lightly…lol.

1. Get into the conversation

2. Talk about them

3. Talk about you

4. Chat / Small talk

5. Get out of the conversation

Here is exactly what I did while I attended my very first event.
I didn’t know a whole lot of people there ‘personally’, I mean I
had promoted for them and had email conversations with them
but most of them didn’t know me all that well.

I took my list and began one by one introducing myself.
“Hi ‘x’, my name is Chris Morris and I…” this is how I got
into the conversation. Then you just get them talking
about themselves…this is easy…”What are you working on now?”
This sounds corney but it’s perfect because people love talking
about themselves and it makes you interesting because you’re interested.

The next step is getting to talking about you. This is also easy
because the follow up to you asking about them most likely leads
to them asking about you…lol. Talk about killing two birds with
one stone right?

And finally getting out of the conversation…”Well ‘x’, it was very
nice speaking with you, I know you’re busy but I would love to sit
down more and see how I can help you do…”

That’s all there is to it. Do this a few times and you will
be doing it naturally and without thinking about it.
I hope that you enjoy these tips that I’m sharing with
you and will use them as I have to build long lasting
relationships.

Be sure to submit your comments below and I hope to see you at the next marketing event.

By now you should know that information products
are my favorite way to creating income in my spare
time from home. So I’m going to give you another
‘Birds Eye View’ of the process so that you can
duplicate this over and over and create your own
information empire.

So here are 5 steps you can take to developing an
information product using articles:

1. Write / Outsource An Article

2. Write / Outsource An Introduction

3. Insert Your Article

4. Create An Ending Page

5. Create / Outsource A Professional Cover

It’s no secret that I really don’t like writing,
it’s never been my strong point and I just never
really enjoyed doing it so in step one we really
have a couple options that will allow you to create
or have created a really killer article.

If you’re a writer and enjoy writing then this
is going to be very easy for you to do. But, if
you’re like me and don’t like writing or would
prefer to use your time doing something else then
you can easily outsource the article writing on
sites like elance.com or guru.com.

Once your article is written you are going to want
to write an introduction page to the article. An
introduction page should contain things about the
article itself like what bugs you and some facts
about the article that was written.

You should also include a solution and why you’re
excited to give them the information, this section
is just a place for you to get them excited about
reading the rest of the article.

With the introduction written your next step is to
insert your article. You are probably going to have
to format and tweak it a little bit to flow correctly
but overall it should fit in just fine.

The next step is simply to create an ending page, this
is the page that will tie everything together about what
they just read and should encourage them to a next step.

You could use this to encourage them to purchase one of
your own information products, or this is a great place
to insert an affiliate product and earn affiliate commissions
on the backend.

And finally, this is what I personally believe is the
icing on the cake…the one thing that creates the
‘High Value’ image in the prospects eye and that is
the cover. I believe that your cover is one of the
biggest parts of this entire process, the reason I
say that is that there is a whole psychology behind
it but a professional looking cover can mean the difference
between consumption and the digital junkyard.

Quite simply, if your report or book looks like trash,
it’s going to end up in the trash can. I have used the
same graphics guy for years and I know that graphics
are a very important part in getting people to open
and consume your information.

Put enough of these books and reports together, mix and
match with video and audio and you have yourself a big
information product that you can sell over and over again!

Try it, come back and report your results

You may hear people say that this is not the way
to go to developing an information product but I
say don’t listen to them because they’re wrong.

If you’re not an expert in the niche that you want
to break in to, there is absolutely no rule or law
that says you can’t develop a product unless you
‘personally’ know the subject matter.

It’s bull.

So here are 5 steps you can take to developing an
information product using expert interviews:

1. Identify the expert(s)

2. Contact the expert(s)

3. Give expert a reason why (WIIFM)
( What’s in it for me )

4. Create a list of questions

5. Agree on terms / Conduct the interview

So let’s take a look at each of these steps individually
and explore them just a bit further. If you’re looking
for a step by step course this isn’t what this is but rather
a birds eye view of the main process.

At step one all you’re going to do is brainstorm who the
experts are in that niche. For instance if you were to
take the make money nice or internet marketing niche and
I wanted to do an interview with experts who are specifically
making money using information marketing then I would look
at everyone I could think of and begin making a list one by
one like so.

1. Mike Filsaime
2. Frank Kern
3. Eben Pagan
4. Jeff Walker
5. Etc….Etc….

Now I know these guys off the top of my head but what if
you didn’t? Well you can use a couple of places to get you
started in the right directly. The first place I like to
start doing any type of research is at Google. I would go
to www.Google.com and I would search for my niche keyword
and then the term expert after it. So my search in Google
looks like this:

information marketing expert

And I got a little bit of feedback from Google on who Google
thinks is my info marketing gurus ( experts ). I see Adam Urbanski
who I don’t know but the name sounds familiar, I see Joe Polish
which Joe is actually a big name in the industry and he lives here
in Arizona where I live so I know that name very well. And what
you want to do is go through and find names of people who are
in the industry and begin making a list of possible experts to
ask to do an interview with.

The other place you can use to find experts could be a site like
Big Boards and you can find them at big-boards.com. This is a site
that has a listing of a ton of forums and message boards where you
can look in very niche specific and find experts. For something like
this it’s best to search your target niche and then go to each board
one by one and begin looking for the guys with a lot of authority and
tons of posts.

The guys with the most posts are going to be the ‘gurus’ of those forums
and will have a lot of authority within that community and even outside
of the community. Your goal is to again make a list of all the big names
you can find, where you found them and a way to contact them once you’re
done with your research.

Ok, so step two is where we’re going to actually contact the experts and
try and get them to do an interview with us. This is a crucial step and it
is more than just sending an email saying “Can I interview you?”. If you
blow this step then there will be no interview, this is crucial. You don’t
have to have some elaborate fancy letter to them but you do need to have
a damn good reason for them to say yes to you.

Which leads us into step 3…

Step 3 could easily be the most important step of all because if you come
off the wrong way or you don’t have a good WIIFM for the expert, there will
not be any interview at all. You just need to give the expert a reason why
they should spend any time with you being interviewed.

Keep in mind that they are human beings and not someone who is not approachable
by any means, but, you have to also understand that they probably see a LOT of
offers like this everyday and they can’t say yes to every one who emails them
so in order to weed out those who are just going to waste their time, there must
be a good reason why.

So keep thinking to yourself “Why should they say yes to me?” What are they going
to get out of me (you) interviewing them? It could be that you’ve already lined up a
lot of different experts in the industry and if they do this interview with you there
will be a ton of exposure that will instantly put them in the spotlight as the expert
in the industry, it can be anything but you must give them a really good reason why.

If you get other names that they recognize that have already agreed to do an interview
with you then they’ll be WAY more likely to say yes without much thought about it, no
one wants to be the one to say know when another recognized name has already said yes
Even letting them know who you plan to contact could be something that can be used to
persuade them to say yes.

The experts are going to want to know the type of audience is going to receive the
information and how qualified they are to receive it. In other words, who specifically
is going to hear the interview, how targeted are they to the information. So you wouldn’t
send traffic that is interested in information marketing to a gardening call right?
It just wouldn’t make sense and also, when we say how qualified are they for the information
we’re simply asking at what stage are they in learning this information? Are they new
and know nothing…Are they intermediate…these are all very important to know for
the expert and will decide on the overall content for the call.

So step 4 is really about tailoring questions to the specific expert. What you want
to do here really take time and develop questions with the specific expert in mind.
Don’t just come up with generic questions here or you’ll never get that expert on
the phone again. If this is something that will be used as a product, you can easily
gather questions on the subject by doing surveys.

If you have a list already you can easily create a survey and send it to your list
asking them for their top questions related to ‘x’. Surveys are a great way to come
up with questions that you may not have come up with otherwise on your own. You can
also use services where people are asking questions like in forums or Yahoo answers
etc. People are asking questions on a variety of things all day long, if you find and
deliver clear and valuable information to their question and solve their problem then
you’ve done your job well.

And the final step is for you and the expert to agree on terms for the interview.
You may not think that this would even be in here but it’s vitally important that you
understand that it’s not enough to get someone on a phone and ask them questions and
think that is it. Not even close. Because you have plans to use this call to do
something very specific whether it’s to make money or give it away for free.

The other part of this is that the person being interviewed also has rights to that
same call and not just yourself so you really need to sit down and think about what
each of you want to get out of the deal. You need to think about and discuss the
resell terms for both of you. Let them know up front what you would like to do with
the content of the call and whether you plan to sell it or not and give them the
same option you have.

You need to agree on publishing the content and whether or not the call will be done
live with an audience or by yourself. And who will conduct and manage the audience
while the interview is going on. Again, these are all things you need to consider
before getting on the phone with anyone.

Putting on several of these calls with targeted experts and packaging them up can
turn into big profits. I know one of my friends Kristi Sayles who started out using
this same business model and turned this into a nice business for herself. Not only
do you have an instant product to sell but it also positions you as an expert by
default.

Try it, come back and report your results

Two of the biggest problems that I get questions about all the time are:

1. How to create my own product?
2. I do not have a list I want to know how to built one.

Each of these problems on their own are huge, and together they seem impossible to overcome. When I got started looking for an opportunity to make money online I felt like everyone else was so much smarter than I, and that everything I seemed to read or hear about eluded me and made me feel so unsure of myself. I had no idea where to start. I wanted to build a list and then my goal was to create a product that I could sell to that list. But I did not have a list and more importantly, I desperately wanted to know how to built one.

Fast forward to today. I have a list of over 10,000 double optin subscribers and customers who know, like, and trust me. That’s just one list. I have several smaller lists in between but this one list is from my very first information product that I produced. I have intentionally taken you from past to present to show you that I have indeed created a highly reponsive optin list and I have also produced my own successful information product. So I definitely qualify to share this information with you.

Let’s go back to the beginning here shall we? You must remember that I had no list. No product. No prior experience…Nothing. I used to work as a security guard for crying out loud…NO skills necessary. Just Kidding in case any security guards are reading this. But seriously, I had no special skills or training in my life that I could fall back on to help make this work. I had to learn everything from scratch and even worse is I was out of a job and barely had any savings. I needed money fast!

So let’s recap, I needed a list and I needed a product in order to get some cash to save my butt. And in case you don’t know me yet, I am married to an awesome woman ( Missy ) for almost what…almost 10 years now ( Wow ) and together we now have 5 kids ( Yeah, FIVE! ) 3 Girls and 2 Boys. Don’t worry…We’re done! So needless to say I was in a VERY difficult spot and coming home to my wife to say I quit my job was the HARDEST thing I have ever done.

Once the worry and anger wore off a little and I recuperated from my injuries ( thanks hun ) I forced myself to learn everything I could find about list building but it was easier said than done. Even after I read what I thought to be good relevant information about list building I was still stuck. I might as well have not even read the information in the first place because my inner thoughts were crushing me. You know…The inner voices that tell you that you “Can’t” do something. It’s rediculous. I couldn’t just listen to them, I have a family that I need to take care of.

I bring this up because it’s so relevant. I can’t tell you how many emails I get, or questions that I answer that sounds just like how I felt when I was working hard to get started. You feel frustrated. Angry. Terrified. Excited. All at the same time sometimes and it can drive you mad. You must fix that inner dialog, you can’t ignore it or shut it off, it’s there for a reason. BUT, you can make it work for you and not against you. Here is a tip…Everytime your inner voice starts to say you “Can’t” do something, the second you hear it coming you replace it with “I will learn to do” and you fill in the blank as you go. By doing this little exercise you will turn that negative around into a goal and objective and instead of it being something that is holding you back, it’s now a goal that you are actively working on and will master. Each obstacle you encounter like this, you should repeat that process over and over and you’ll be amazed at how well that actually works.

Alright. So far we still have no list and no product but you already know that I have overcome those objections when I flash forwarded to present so you may be asking yourself “What Changed”? And looking back it almost seems like it happened so quickly but it didn’t. Things only began moving fast for me when I finally discovered the one course that really changed my life. This is not a sales pitch by any means but it’s necessary to tell you that it wasn’t until I discovered Mike Filsaime that my life changed.

I’m so bad with dates ( ask my wife ) so please forgive me here but a few years ago or so I found Mike Filsaime, I don’t remember how but it may have been inside the Warrior Forum to which I’ve been a member of for years now. But Mike ( back then ) was not the Mike you know today, but was definitely on his way to the success that he deserves! Mike came out with a home study course called Buttefly Marketing and I remember all the hype and buzz it got but really didn’t know how to take it since I was fairly new to this whole idea of internet marketing so I just sat back and watched.

I was fascinated by his success and was surprised to find out that Mike Filsaime was a car salesman before learning and picking up internet marketing. This began to sound off every alarm in my head telling me to pay very close attention to what ever Mike has to say. I didn’t buy buttefly marketing right when it came out…in fact, I couldn’t even afford it. I’m almost embarrased to admit this but I contacted Mike personally by email one day and I remember telling him how much I appreciated everthing he’s done for me personally even though he’d never personally helped me other than his forum posts and things that I found online from him. I didn’t even think I’d ever receive an email back from him, I didn’t expect to but I decided to send an email anyway on the off chance that he would see my email and wanted to reply back to me.

I don’t know how long it took him to reply honestly but he DID reply personally. I was able to make arrangements to buy his course and Mike and I followed through with the deal and it was the best damn deal I’ve ever got in my lifetime. Honestly. I remember the day the package came and I immediately tore into it and devoured everything he had to say, I went into the private forums and began to interact with other butterflies and this is where things changed for me.

I know this is a long post and I certainly didn’t intend it to be, but looking back so far I believe it’s necessary to tell you as much of my own story in hopes that you find one element that you can identify with and recognize that there is hope and you will succeed if you do not give up hope. I’m going to tie this all together very quickly I promise. So once I began interacting with the other members and absorbed the whole butterfly marketing concept, I was able to start to help those who had their own questions and problems and learn even more than I had before.

I ended up PM’ing ( Personal Messaging ) a guy on the forum, I don’t remember what it was all about now but it wasn’t anything about business. Maybe it was just saying hello to a new person. Could have been. But that person turned out to be someone that helped me put all the pieces together very quickly and that is Bob ( The Teacher ) Jenkins . We began to share messages back and forth for a while and during those messages we began to build a friendship from it. Bob messages me one day and says that he’s got a project that he’d like to see created and produced and asked me if I was interested. Sure…I said. So he told me about an idea to create a set of video tutorials that would take a user step by step through the process of managing their websites using only CPanel.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with CPanel, it’s a web interface that is used to manage your online websites. Now I had some knowledge on CPanel, I didn’t think I was an expert by any means but looking back now I realize that it isn’t the point. There is always someone just starting out and knows even less than you do so in their eyes…You ARE the expert!

Alright, back to the story…

So Bob knows I was ‘fresh’ out of the Buttefly Marketing University and was eager to put my new found skills to the test but I honestly believed I was NOT ready…Not by a long shot. Remember earilier that I wasn still trying to figure out list building and then I dove into the Butterfly Marketing Course? Well you wouldn’t know if now but I was about to be thrown head first into the deep end of the pool and it was either swim with the fishes or be eaten by the sharks. Nice right?

Over the course of the next month or so Bob and I had multiple telephone calls back and forth to each other, we did conferences and shared desktops and regularly updated each other on our progress. Bob made these killer mind maps that really helped me stay focused on my work ( I get distracted pretty easily ) because I have kids still at home. But one thing that pushed me to make this all work was the accountability that I had. Not just to myself and my wife, but to Bob as well. Keep in mind I’m pretty much broke at this point and I’m putting all the chips on the table hoping to break the dealer.

It took me about a month…maybe less, but I created over 15 step by step video tutorials that did exactly that. There were things in between all this that put all the rest of the pieces to the puzzle together but this is exactly what I did to create my very first product. Now, there was things like niche research, topic selection, setting up a membership site and taking payments etc. but pretty much it was easier with the system that Bob and I worked on together to complete it.

We launched that product around June or July of 2007 and because of the Butterfly Marketing Script ( Membership Site Platform ) I was able to build a list and also launch my very first product all in one step. The membership site software I use has a built in support for collecting names and email addresses and more from the customer before they even buy so it’s a very good list building tool too. You can offer a free report or gift on the front end and collect your visitors information before sending them through your sales funnel.

Ok, so let’s wrap it up because I’d LOVE for you to share your thoughts and experiences with me too. To this day we have over 13,000 members and have paid tens of thousands alone in affiliate commissions and of those, 10,000 or so have double opted into my list and I can market to them over and over again. This experience has changed my life and I want to share this with you too. I want you to have a product creation breakthrough like I have and I’ve got something big in the works but for now, share your thoughts and comments here with me. If you have specific questions, I’d love to hear them and I will try to answer some of them here. If I don’t get to your question, it’s not ignored I promise you, I will keep track of your reponse and will give you more killer content soon!

Chris
