Organize – Plan – And Profit

by Chris Morris on April 16, 2008

One of my great friends Bob Jenkins ( BobTheTeacher ) actually turned me on to this when we worked on our first project together Discover Cpanel. Bob and I had spent a lot of time on the phone discussing the entire project from start to finish. The great thing about working on a project like this with Bob was that he came from a teaching environment which was a HUGE benefit for me.

I have a difficult time comprehending things when reading or watching video etc. but because Bob had this previous experience in teaching and organization, he actually incorporated something that I had not seen used before that turned our talks and strategies into an organized blueprint that I could easily follow and keep track of my accomplishments over time.

It’s actually a really nice piece of software that I just started using, it’s called Freemind. Bob actually discovered this tool while he was teaching, and because he was was able to easily plan his lessons, organize his unit plans and even arrange groups of students for projects or presentations. This is an amazing piece of software.

Bob and I ran through a series of calls over a month or so and during our calls, Bob would use a screen sharing utility so that I could watch him build this roadmap using Freemind for our Discover Cpanel video tutorial series.

I can’t begin to tell you how easy this free software made it for me to handle what would have been a daunting task of trying to remember everything that we had discussed. Because of this free software, I was able to simply open up the Mind Map that Bob had created and I had an instant roadmap to follow and had it in a very organized fashion that even I could easily follow.

Because of his ability to take what would have been a complex issue and teach me how to use this amazing software, Bob and I have a very lucrative and successful business that runs on autopilot every month for us. I was able to take what I learned from Bob and incorporate that into my own business and start to use these same techniques to organize – plan – and Profit.

Bob Jenkins has just released his brand new Freemind Mind Mapping Course that will teach you everything you need to know to organize – plan – and profit just like he has taught me to do. I personally recommend that you click the button below to check out this really cool course and put Freemind to work for you!

I’ve read about mind mapping before and wondered how well it works. I’m certainly willing to give it a try because it is certainly challenging to keep up with all the details of a project.

I really like the look of your blog, Chris. I look forward to more posts from you.

Your friend,
Joanna

A good start Chris. Very clean and uncluttered. Eerily so!

Now you’ve got me wondering how you manage to write and do so much when you have so many children…

Well done

Hey Joanna,

Thank you, it’s a start but I needed a fresh one. Things will start to pick up as I post more and I really appreciate the comments guys.

Mind mapping is awesome and what better way to learn than from a person who can easily instruct guys like me! :-)

All kidding aside, Bob is an awesome teacher guys and the program rocks. I can say that because of Bob introducing this concept to me early on in our first project, it’s made a world of difference in my own organizational skills and has helped me make more money by being able to follow a simple roadmap to follow my thoughts and ideas.

Hey Lynne,

Well it can be a challange :) I do have a routine here at the home, my wife works outside the house and luckily for me, I only have 2 younger kids here most of the day…A 3 yr. old and a 5 yr. old.

Very soon my youngest son will be full-time at school and then it will be just me and my youngest daughter. I’m hoping that this year will be the last year my wife will be working outside the house.

She enjoys working out of the house but honestly, it can be difficult even with our routine here to keep on task, but until she comes back…well, I’m Daddy Daycare and full-time entrepreneur too!

Hey David,

Thanks, the only thing I do not like about this template is the sidebar is located on the bottom. I like how clean and easy to follow it is though.

I am looking for a theme that I can also integrate a right hand sidebar so I can put my products into as well but for now, this theme will do fine.

I’m about to jump on a call with Ross Goldberg guys but I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and leave your comments.

Hi Chris.

About Free Mind. I might give it a go when I have some time. The computer is a marvellous invention for organizing ideas.

I use Microsoft Excel a lot to organize things although it certainly has its limits.

A word about the web site. The “Get Control Now” window, which moves with me as I scroll down is a nuisance. I cannot get rid of it as the “Close x” link is always off the screen. I only see it for a split second when I scroll quickly.

I use Mozilla Fire Fox. I could have mucked around with Internet explorer and I assume things work fine with I.E. But why should ?

How did I solve the problem of reading your article and the other comments?

I scrolled right to the bottom of the page until everything displayed was blank. Like a faithful little puppy dog, “Get Control Now” followed me.

I then read the blog using the menu item “File/Print Preview”.

Not through yet. I wanted to leave this comment. How?

I constructed it in a text editor. I did not use NotePad but it would have done.

I then blocked the whole comment (^A), copied (^C) and pasted it into the comment box (^V). I could paste anywhere in the box. It did not have to be at the left (under “Get Control Now”).

Thanks for the comment Frank. I actually just took that button off, I use Firefox myself and it was working fine, that floating action button by the way converts like crazy! :-)

Thanks for sharing the knowledge of Freemind and my training, Chris. I appreciate it.

When I was still in the classroom, I had 6 interns over the 10 years that I mentored and watched them become professional educators. Mentoring you at DiscovercPanel for our project you talk about hear gave me the same exciting experience – planning the strategies with Freemind made it easy for us to execute a winning plan that has since made us and a lot of our affiliates great income over the last 10 months.

More importantly, it gave you the momentum and the confidence to build your online business with integrity and value-focus which your blog readers and customers get to benefit from.

I admire what you do with such a busy household, and know a lot of people now look up to you for help in their journeys, too.

Keep up the great work!

Hey…Very cool. Thanks for stopping by Bob and I really appreciate that!

Yeah, I attribute our success on that project all to you! Because of your teaching skills and the ability to make it so easy for me, I was able to take the mind maps you created and follow them very effortlessly and therefore had a step by step plan that was organized and very easy to follow.

Hi Chris,

I just love the look and simplicity of your new blog.

I have had experience with the Freemind mindmapping software program when I took the TIB (Teachers In Business) University course with Bob The Teacher last summer. What a great tool, and easy to use. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!
