When you first set up your website, you cannot expect people to come swarming to what you have created. Generating traffic is something that is very easy to do. Here is an excellent guide that will allow you to generate the right amount of traffic to your website or your blog. Make sure that you implement a few of these tips when you get started.
You need to evaluate your product or concept first. In order to receive the right amount of traffic you have to have something that people want. The internet is full of people and products. You need to make sure that you have something that will truly set you and your product apart.
From there, you need to start thinking about the keywords that you are going to use. Many people do not realize why keywords are so important. When someone conducts a search on something the keywords they type in will pull up the top websites. You need to make sure that your keywords are going to be sought after. Do a couple of tests to find out which keywords are going to work out the best.
A great marketing campaign is also going to help you to start generating traffic. You need to ensure that you truly have something to offer your clients. Try using various advertisements to help pull in your traffic. If you have a blog, you need to make sure that your content is worth reading. People are always looking for specific information.
Newsletters have also become a great way to generate traffic. You can put all of your news and updates in your newsletter and send it out to prospective clients. Ensure that you have the right layout and consistency throughout your newsletter. People who have to search too long for information will not look very long.
You should also take a look into hanging out in online forums. This is a great way to meet new people within your field. You can get the word out about your website or product and you can generate the extra traffic. It is never a bad idea to make friends over the internet. Visit a few forums and see what you can find. You may also want to try and see if you can trade links with other buyers. This will help both of you out immensely.
And finally, one of the best ways to generate traffic is to research how to generate traffic. When you have extra time, then you have time to look for more ways to generate traffic. Get online and dig deep. You want to be able to have the most information out there. The more information that you have the more successful you are going to be.
Generating traffic is something that you need to do in order to be successful. If you have a new blog or website you are going to need traffic in order to make money. Look for newsletters to start and forums to hang out in. These tips and tools will allow you to get the right amount of traffic.

These are great tips you are sharing about traffic generation. I agree that the product must be something everyone wants and can use. Forums are also a prime spot to get traffic. I did not see you mention article marketing which is a long range but important part of traffic generation. Thanks for the article.
Another Great post Chris,
I must say, traffic is my main area of focus and study. It seems to be a never ending task. I agree with Andre about article marketing. I’ve been targeting long tail keywords with high searches and low to moderate competition, combined with article marketing and have been getting good results. Anytime you can place a back link to relevant content is always a plus. Thanks for the post and hope I helped.
Chow for Now,
Chad
@Andre – Absolutely man! Article marketing is another great way to generate traffic and there are a lot of ways to monetize that traffic. Thanks for sharing man!
@CarltonsEnt – Without traffic you’re pretty much dead in the water…that’s for sure. Thanks for your comment Chad!

Excellent advice. I agree that traffic is very important for any on;line venture. What you said about key word research cannot be sressed enough. Even if you think you have the right key words, if people are not sesarching for your key words, little else matters. thanks, again.
Having the right keywords is imperative however most web designers don’t do their homework on the subject and/or don’t have the tool box to efficiently find those keywords. In a world of supply and demand, most keyword searches focus around demand with little thought to supply. The ratio of Demand (those who search the term) and Supply (those who have used the keyword term on their site or blog tags) results in a Profitability Ratio. There is no sense in trying to compete with the big boys on keywords that keep your site lost on page 4 or 24 of Google or Yahoo.
It can be a tedious task but the more front-end work that you put into keyword research (before you start writing), the more traffic you will generate by being on the front page of of the major search engines. After all, that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?
You guys are spot on about keyword research, hey, the new Keyword Elite 2.0 is coming out, you might want to check it out. http://bit.ly/77fD9

Cure research is very important. I absolutely agree with you.
As soon as I get the keyword research done and find out which specific keywords are good to target and go for, I create blog posts around those keywords or create web 2.0 property pages.
Although, the fastest way to get targeted traffic, is to go to old lady existing e-zines and people who have lists already. Here, you can either buy an ad in the newsletter or send out a solo ad. That way, you can get fast traffic, which is targeted, and build a list at the same time.
